Have your shears sharpened by a trusted sharpener. (Turn around time for this service is 2 weeks).

While other companies have a well marketed ” sharpening program “, this does not necessarily speak to the skillset of the sharpener themselves. One way to think about sharpening is your scissor being the car of your dreams. Would you take this car of your dreams to just anyone to change the oil? How about to get your tires aligned? And what about issues that are a big deal ( like transmission, brake, or engine? )

We think the answer is no. That if you could. You would send them to a trusted mechanic. Domestic sharpeners are just this. Our sharpeners are experts in the field. Not just some random person who visits your shop with no qualifications. We trust our sharpeners as the people we get our own vehicles serviced with.

Your order confirmation email/ receipt will be used to identify your shears once received.

Take Note: Friendly reminder. If your shears are Mizutani, there is a serial number located somewhere on your shears ( see product photo gallery for example ). We ask that you record this number for reference purposes. It is a defining characteristic of what our company does differently. Other companies may simply replace a shear that needs work. This serial number is the way for you to know that you are getting the same tool back into your hands.

* Domestic sharpening is available for all shears including other brands ( tools not made at our factory ).

** There are instances when your shears, upon receipt by our sharpeners are unable to be serviced domestically. In this case. As long as they are Mizutani’s, there is a good chance that we will send the shear to our factory in Japan upon contacting you about the issue. We ask that you make sure that the contact information entered upon checkout is accurate in case we need to get a hold of you.
